Kids Count !
In its long history, the Brighton and Hove City Mission has been committed to explaining Christian truth to young children. Before the 1870 Education Act, which established State Education, the Brighton and Hove Mission set up 'ragged' schools to educate children from the poorer areas who were without access to any formal education, many being described as illiterate.
That commitment to children continues to this day. Every school is charged with the responsibility to provide spiritual and moral education. 'Kids Count', the schools ministry of the Brighton and Hove City Mission, aims to play a vital role in this task, working to serve local primary and infant schools in their endeavours. This ministry is respected even by those who do not share our Christian faith! As one local head teacher said,” The provision of Christian Assemblies is very important".
We are a passionate ministry - one that is fervent in building up the walls of knowledge in the lives of as many children as possible. The vast majority are growing up largely in ignorance of Bible truths and of who Jesus is. As a result, their lives can be open to destructive forces, and often are.
